@Marina Arabei in her post suggests reaching out to the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), to Michelle Bachelet, email address email@example.com
This contact was sent from the UN. She has already written about human rights violations during protests in Belarus.
SUBJECT: BELARUS, VIOLATION OF THE RIGHT FOR MEDICAL CARE
Dear Ms. Bachelet,
We, on behalf of the people of Belarus, thank you for your statement that condemns violence against Belarusian protesters and other human rights violations.
We would like to bring to your attention another crime happening in Belarus that goes against international law and Geneva Convention. Militia and SWAT use ambulances as a disguise to get in the protesting crowds. Protesters do not block ambulance, bring the injured to the ambulances seeking help just to get beaten up and shot at with rubber bullets again. This way SWAT is destroying the reputation and trust in the Red Cross Symbol in Belarus and many injured people are afraid to call for medical help now. This tactic is inhumane and should be stopped.
Militia and SWAT also torment and beat up medical workers that help injured people in their off-work time. Some medical volunteers end up detained for 10 days with no food or water for days for helping injured protesters or for just carrying a suspiciously big supply of medicaments and bandages.
Another very disturbing information that we are hearing is that all calls to medical services are redirected to militia and people are not able to call for medical help.
We have attached here the evidence (photos, videos, and stories) of the crimes that we have managed to gather but we know that many crimes go unnoticed in this emergency times.
We beg for your help to protect the rights of millions of Belarusians for fair and unimpeded medical care.
